Another day at Disney World,
 |
| The entrance to the playland |
We did a little Googling today and was shocked at the statistics for Disney World. There are over 62,000 employees and approximately 16,000,000 visitors tour the facility each year. (An average of about 44,000 per day). It is a wonderful engineering feat and they obviously have it down pat.

This is the Tower of Fear exhibition. Knowing Shirl is really not that comfortable with wild rides, I decided not to say anything, but looking at the height of the building I was at least expecting a wild roller-coast type ride within the building. We enter an elevator upon going inside and, after being belted into a seat, we proceeded to immediately rise up 13 stories in height at an incredible speed and then to only be immediately dropped to the bottom, nothing but open terror for a couple of old folks.... This experience is repeated several times over.
The elevator rises a total height of 13 building stories in 1.5 seconds and rises at 15 times the speed of a normal elevator. It achieves a speed of 39 mph, and most important, we survived!! Actually, when the ride was over it was an enjoyable experience, something I can say after being back on safe solid ground. |

| We saved the best until last, the Indiana Jones exhibit. |
 |
| This is only a portion of the very large exhibit hall where the exhibit takes place. Basically it is a showing of how many of the scenes of the Indiana Jones Movies were made. Pyrotechnics are an important part of the shows and this one was no different. It is amazing that nobody gets seriously hurt with all the action. |
 |
| This is the final scene but as you know, everyone ended up safe... |
 |
| The anxious couple waiting in line for the exhibit. |
 |
| It is amazing how they make backgrounds look so real. Without the people in the foreground you would really think you were in San Francisco. |

The end to a wonderful day, dinner at Maggiano's
Tomorrow we leave Orlando and head down the coast taking two days to get to Fort Lauderdale where we will meet up again with Alex and Gerry again before we board the ship on Saturday.
