The Traveling Huntley's - Curacao

We arrived in Curacao around 7:30 am under cloudy skies and 77 degrees.  Curacao is known for its cultural strengths.  Most are descendants of Spanish, Portuguese, French, English and Dutch settlers in addition of several native tribes. Several colonial buildings are considered to be UNESCO World Heritage monuments.

The main harbor entrance is located above.  We docked in the foreground and only spent a little time in the city.

The floor of the pool area has water spouts that provide a welcome coolness when laying on the deck.

The happy travelers.

Interesting flower

The town buildings are all colored in bright colors resulting in a very colorful town.

One of the most unique shopping experiences in the world is Willernstad’s floating market. There is a bridge connecting the two sides of the entry channel with market booths on each side.  When shipping traffic arrives the bridge swings over to one side to allow boating traffic to pass.

The bridge pivots at one end allowing it to open for boat traffic.

Yes, International Diamonds.

A very colorful town with many different shops.
